Industrial Development

The Chicago South Shore & South Bend Railroad has choice industrial development sites available along our railroad, some owned by the South Shore.

What makes locating on the Chicago South Shore such a wise choice? Options, Options and more Options! Options mean competition and competition brings value for your transportation dollars, and it's hard to find more options than we can offer. With connections at Chicago with all six of Chicago's Class I railroads and all other diverging carriers as well, we can get your important shipments to or from anywhere in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. In addition, a location on the Chicago South Shore Railroad brings access to the Port of Chicago, the Illinois and Mississippi River systems, all of the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Of course, as a South Shore customer, you benefit from our dependable, scheduled service. We were a scheduled railroad even when scheduled railroading wasn't cool. With our 60-mph roadbed, your shipments will be handled safely and efficiently. But don't take our word for it; talk to our customers, then, let's talk about options!
